A Better Way

White Glove Care: What It Really Means to Build a Career in Concierge Home Care

Most people who enter home care do so because they love caring for people. Over time, many find the work frustrating: rushed visits, a new client every few hours, schedules that change at the last minute, and little time to do the job the way they know it should be done.

Concierge home care is different. At A Better Way, we built our model around one idea: when caregivers have the time, structure, and recognition to deliver their very best, clients receive world class care and caregivers build careers they're proud of. If you're a CNA, LPN, or RN who has wondered whether there's a better way to do this work, this is what concierge care looks like from the inside.

What Is Concierge Home Care?

Moving from regular home care to elevated, concierge-level care is what we have always done. That's why we created A Better Way Concierge Care: highly personalized care delivered in the privacy of the client's residence, whether that's their own home or a retirement community. Our elevated care package is founded on our Platinum Promise and includes Concierge Attendant, LPN, and RN services.

Rather than moving from house to house on a tight schedule, a Concierge Attendant is matched with a specific client and family and becomes a trusted part of their daily life. Our clients aren't looking for “just a little help.” They want an elevated level of service from someone who anticipates their needs, respects their home, and makes every day feel calm and cared for. That might mean personal care and mobility support in the morning, preparing a favorite meal at midday, running errands in the afternoon, and helping a client enjoy a sunset walk in the evening. Our Elite Service Menu covers everything from Day-to-Day Services and our Ten-Day Transition Home program to Let's Go to the Market, Pamper Yourself, and Chasing the Sunset. The options are truly endless.

What “White Glove Service” Means in Practice

White glove service isn't about formality. It's about paying attention. In concierge care, excellence shows up in small, intentional details: noticing a client seems tired before they say so, remembering how they take their tea, keeping the home calm and orderly, and speaking with warmth and discretion.

Every A Better Way Concierge Attendant commits to our Platinum Promise, the standard behind our elevated care package. At its heart, the promise asks attendants to make service excellence their priority, anticipate the needs of their client, bring a positive attitude and demeanor, uphold high standards in every personal interaction, find the best possible resolution to any challenge, work as an extraordinary team member, communicate wisely and thoughtfully, and provide high value in every shift.

If you read that list and thought, “That's already how I work,” concierge care may be exactly where you belong.

Being “On a Service”: The Committed Client Model

One of the most meaningful parts of concierge work is the committed service relationship. When a client and family select you, you become part of their service. For example, if you're chosen to care for the Smith family, you are “on the Smith service.” Your workday and workweek center on the Smith family.

Being chosen is a genuine honor. It means you've demonstrated the work ethic, professionalism, and heart required to deliver world class care, and a family has trusted you with someone they love.

Committed service brings real advantages for caregivers:

Set schedules without alterations. When you're placed on a service, your schedule is established and stays that way. No last-minute shift swaps, no scrambling between clients, and no guessing what next week looks like. You can plan your life with confidence.

Consistency. You work with the same client, learning their routines, preferences, and personality deeply.

Depth over speed. You have time to deliver care thoughtfully instead of rushing through a task list.

A real relationship. Many attendants say this model reminds them of why they chose caregiving in the first place.

A lasting reputation. Your service record and loyalty become your reference for future concierge placements.

Because our clients value continuity, full-time committed service is often expected, particularly for clients who need extended daily care. Loyalty and reliability are among the most valued qualities an attendant can bring.

Recognition, Growth, and Support

We believe the people who deliver world class care deserve world class support. At A Better Way, that includes:

Platinum Reviews. Clients assess the care they receive every day, and we love celebrating great reviews. Client feedback goes into your employment file, supports your annual review, and may be shared with future clients who are choosing their attendant.

Supervisory visits. Periodic visits help ensure services exceed expectations and provide you with documented proof of your excellence to build on.

Annual work anniversary reviews and stay interviews. Each year, we sit down with you not only to review your performance but to ask how we can better support you. Your voice matters in how we grow.

A team behind you. From emergency planning with our Safety Liaison to help keep your credentials current, you're never on your own.

Who Is Concierge Care Best Suited For?

Concierge care isn't for everyone, and that's what makes it special. The people who thrive with us are dependable, detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, discreet, and genuinely motivated by making someone's day better.

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). CNAs are the backbone of concierge care. CNAs who thrive in this setting are experienced, confident in personal care, mobility, and transfer support, and comfortable working independently in a private home or retirement community residence. Those who enjoy long-term relationships more than fast-paced facility work, and who take pride in going beyond the basics with meal preparation, household organization, errands, and companionship, tend to find concierge care deeply rewarding. A CNA with a strong work history, a clean background screen, current CPR, and a proactive approach to continuing education is an ideal fit.

Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses (LPN/RN). Our nurses are an essential part of the concierge team, and we make sure they are never working alone. LPNs and RNs on a concierge service are backed by our office team and leadership, with clear communication, a dedicated point of contact, and the same set schedule and committed client relationship our attendants enjoy. Nurses who thrive with us bring a calm, reassuring presence for families and a hospitality mindset that matches our Platinum Promise.
